A big week for 1 Poultry

News   8th September 2026

Last Thursday, 1 Poultry was at the centre of two very different City of London experiences.

JRA Directors Festus Moffat and David Magyar joined Lord Peter Hendy’s Routemaster tour of the City, passing 1 Poultry along the route. David shared a few words about the project and its future transformation, offering a glimpse of the building from a different perspective.

Originally completed in 1997, James Stirling’s 1 Poultry remains one of the City’s most distinctive and debated buildings. The project takes a thoughtful ‘repair, restore and enhance’ approach, retaining its architectural integrity while improving sustainability, accessibility and its civic role.

Future changes include enhanced public spaces, cultural installations and new retail and community uses at ground level, the reopening of the long-disused apex entrance, and improved access to the rooftop and its views across the City.

Meanwhile, JRA Director Nathalie Bergvall and Project Director Kuros Sarshar attended the BCO President’s Party & AGM, celebrating the inauguration of this year’s President, Andy McBain.

The programme included a project tour of 1 Poultry, led by Four Partnership and MORE, with Ben Cross, Adrian Lim and Basil Demeroutis.

Congratulations to Ben Cross on his appointment as BCO Junior Vice President, and to Andy McBain on becoming BCO President.
