Great Arthur House Shortlisted for RIBA Awards 2019

JRA is pleased to announce that Great Arthur House has been shortlisted in the RIBA London Regional Awards 2019. This year’s shortlist features 83 schemes that include high-profile retrofit and heritage projects.

Originally designed in 1956 by Chamberlin Powell and Bon, Grade ll listed Great Arthur House is the iconic centrepiece of the Golden Lane Estate, one of the most influential British post-war housing developments.  JRA was appointed by The City of London Corporation to design a replacement for the building’s deteriorating 1950s single-glazed curtain wall system with a matching, bespoke double-glazed façade, dramatically improving the comfort of the 120 flats for residents.

The jury will be visiting the shortlisted schemes throughout March and April with the winners announced at the awards ceremony on 20th May.
