John Robertson Architects’ Yiannis Proestos was selected as a finalist in the AJ/Curtins Inspiring Graduate Awards. The prize recognises graduates working towards their Part 3 who have made a significant impact on an architecture practice’s business or are demonstrating good business sense on an independent project.

Following his submission detailing his work on new commercial development 33 Central and competition entries for innovative housing, Yiannis was shortlisted as one of only seven graduates nationally. The shortlisted candidates presented their work to an expert judging panel, including Denise Bennetts (Bennetts Associates) Roger Hawkins, (Hawkins\Brown) Teresa Borsuk (Pollard Thomas Edwards) and Michal Cohen (Walters and Cohen).

The ceremony was held as part of the AJ120 Breakfast at Claridges ahead of a keynote speech by Peabody chairman Bob Kerslake. Curtins CEO Rob Melling, who presented the prizes, praised the shortlisted candidates for their ‘poise and professionalism’.
