British Medical Association, London WC1
A masterplan rethinking a complex estate and the future workplace through stakeholder engagement.
Overview
JRA is currently working with the British Medical Association (BMA), a collective organisation that is both a trade union and professional body for doctors. The BMA appointed JRA to focus on two parallel workstreams reconfiguring their estate.
The first body of work looks at the masterplan of their estate in Tavistock Square. This includes enhancing the profile, lighting and wayfinding, reception and hospitality offering, placemaking, and enhancing connectivity. It also prioritises improving the wellbeing amenities in the basement, via a gym, changing facilities and more cycle storage.
The second body of work looks at the future of their workplace as they invite their staff back to the office and how to promote new ways of working post pandemic.
As part of the workplace strategy approach, JRA prepared a strategic brief that involved hosting 17 workshops, speaking to over 100 employees from different directorates and teams. The BMA has many tiers and organisations within the company, so the wide range of interviews ensured everyone was consulted.
